Abstract: Capital budgeting is a key element of corporate finance, where tools such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and the Payback Period model are used to make long-term investment decisions. While these decisions are well- structured in organizational contexts, households and individuals also make important financial decisions, but often without structured evaluation. This can result in inefficient use of savings, higher risk, and missed opportunities for wealth creation. This research proposes a conceptual framework, called Capital Budgeting for Personal Investment Decisions (CaPID), that uses capital budgeting principles in household financial decision-making. CaPID is built on the concepts of Time Value of Money and Capital Budgeting Decision Rules, guiding individuals through a three-stage process that includes identifying financial requirements, screening investment options, and conducting quantitative evaluations using tools such as NPV, IRR, Payback Period, and Profitability Index. To demonstrate the practical applicability and relevance of the framework, six standard household investment options comprising Fixed Deposits, Mutual Funds, Gold, Public Provident Fund, Real Estate, and ULIPs were evaluated. The results show how structured evaluation can enhance transparency and align investments with individual financial requirements. The study helps bridge the gap between corporate finance theory and personal finance practice, offering both theoretical insight and practical guidance to households, financial advisors, and policymakers. CaPID establishes a systematic approach to rational and informed personal investment planning by transforming abstract financial choices into measurable decisions.

Abstract: This study examines the evolving challenges and policy responses shaping Telangana’s agricultural marketing landscape in India. A mixed-methods approach was employed, utilizing primary survey data from 200 farmers, 20 Farmer-Producer Organization (FPO) representatives, and 10 market officials, alongside secondary data spanning 2015–2024. Key findings reveal persistent structural bottlenecks, including inadequate storage infrastructure, high transportation costs, price volatility, and the continued dominance of intermediaries. These factors collectively weaken farmers’ bargaining power and income stability. While digital platforms and market information systems offer potential improvements in transparency and access, their impact is limited by low digital literacy, weak internet connectivity, and uneven adoption across districts. Short-term financial support through initiatives like Rythu Bandhu and procurement operations provides relief but fails to address deeper systemic issues. The analysis also highlights significant regional disparities, particularly in Adilabad and Nalgonda, underscoring the need for localized policy responses rather than uniform state-wide interventions. Statistical techniques such as regression, ANOVA, and correlation analysis demonstrate that digital literacy, infrastructure access, and institutional support significantly influence market participation and outcomes. Ultimately, the study concludes that integrated, context-sensitive reforms are essential to build inclusive, efficient, and resilient agricultural markets in Telangana.

Abstract: Scholarly studies and real-life observations confirm that financial literacy is a necessary life skill. Financial literacy can affect how a person manages their wealth, spending habits, and ultimately their overall financial wellness. Emotional spending increases due to stress, societal pressures, or lifestyle factors. This trend is of growing concern for young adults transitioning to independence. Among this population, postgraduate students represent a significant group. This research uses a quantitative design to measure the effect of financial literacy on emotional spending behavior. The quantitative design is incorporated through a closed-ended survey administered to 392 postgraduate students. The survey instrument measures constructs such as financial literacy, financial well-being, and emotional spending patterns, while examining their interrelationships. The research used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), specifically the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method in Smart PLS 4.0, to analyze the data and test the hypothesized relationships among the variables. The present study intends to identify gaps in financial knowledge amongst postgraduate students, while bringing out the relationships among financial literacy, emotional spending, and ultimately influencing financial well-being.
